I just got the Sony DSC-P1. so far i love it. Picture quality is pretty good, seems to be better for outdoor pics rather than indoor pics. Check pics of my Z out at:

You can get this camera for about $600, but you will need some more memory. And maybe an extra battery depending on how long you want to take pics at a time. The battery is good for about 75 minutes. I chose the P1 because of hte size. I didn't want to carry an SLR sized camera. This one is between the size of an APS camera and a 35 mm camera. Just make sure it matches your needs. Other cameras offer much more flexability in adjusting shutter speeds and all sorts of things like that. But if you just want a point and shoot type camera, this one is pretty cool. LCD screen on back is really sharp too. Girls dig the camera more than my Z. sucks...wasted 25 grand...heehee.

: I just graduated High School and my mom got me some money to put towards a digital camera. I would like to hear your opinions on what one to get. I want to be able to take mpeg movies and be able to store a decent amount of photographs. What are the best brands out there? Also, where can I go to read reviews? If you know any online vendors that have good prices also post a link :) Thanks guys
