I don't know how they do it in Texas, but in Virginia 20 mph or more above the speed limit equals wreckless driving, which results in a mandatory trip to court. So if $400.00 will pay it off, consider yourself lucky. As far as the insurance goes, you could possibly get lucky on that as well. Most insurance companies keep a check on all their clients DMV records and adjust their premiums accordingly. Some companies, however, only run these checks on new clients. So if you don't change insurance companies in the next few years, they might not catch it. It happens more than you think, but I wouldn't count on it too much. Good luck with it all. P.S. If you like racing that much, $400.00 will buy you alot of time at the track.
