Subject	carputer set up

Message	so I've been searching about a carputer set up for my z and I have a couple of questions left. Right now i have a ibm thinkpad with windows 2000, -can i just hook up a datascan cable to my thinkpad and then run a cable from my thinkpad to a touchscreen? -also when I'm hooking up the touchscreen, would it be 1 simple cable or handfulls? (does the touchscreen have the software to tell the laptop its a touchscreen, this disabling the mouse?) if yes to both all i would need is : -laptop -datascan cable/software -touchscreen is this correct at all or am i delusional?
