Message Never left me stranded, always starts, radiator fan clutch does not working, however, never overheats, torque curve is amazing, over-engineered is an understatement.

I have heard some horror stories about the E46 M3s, but on the autocross track the E36 M3s rule the roost (except for those d@mn 400whp Evos).

Anyway I autocross the F* out of this. I don't mean I go to the events and baby it around the track, my buddy and I rip this car within inches of its life (read: Gets 2x as much autocross as other cars) and then drive it 100 miles home once a month. The main cost is tires. Point is, my M gets flogged whenever I drive it (everyday). No complaints and would do it all over again.

This is an E36, I doubt he could afford an E46.

They do take maintenance, but nothing I could not handle (upgraded clutch and flywheel, suspension, brakes).

Lexus is a great car don't get me wrong. Reliable and nice looking, soft ride, but BMW truely is the Ultimate Driving Machine. If you want a car that allows you to be connected to the road, feel it, and do some amazing things, Lexus is out.

My wife has a 330Ci, and my next car will be the BMW 335i. Of course I will by used in a few years, yank the engine, put 9:1 compression pistons and big a$$ turbos and then go pick on some Supras, but hey that is another story and another forum.
