Message	they whine because they're "cheap." I'm not a die-hard racer. But, when I mentioned to my transmission guy and my mechanic that I was getting Richmond Gears for my TT, both of them commented on the quality and durability associated with Richmond Gears. Anyway, I agree that if the only problem is a slight whine, don't worry about it. GPA
