| Looks more like a political deal made for a juicy contract to buy some expensive-ass equipment that no one needs to be making in the first place. With a nice back door side that lines the pockets of repair shops that will be receiving the state's 500 bucks. I'm going to go out on a limb and speculate that there will be a certification or license that shops will have to pay & apply to receive that will allow them to be annointed as "authorized fix-it shops". Yet more money for a bureaucracy to oversee the licensing process. I can only imagine the people who are drooling over these $1000 cars and what institutions are vying over getting a piece of that pie. Is there still any question in anyone's mind why it is so expensive to live in CA ?
