Message	not just being a smart ass either ... its the best resource you have and anything that applies to film applies to your DSLR .. just interpret things slightly different in terms of film speed and color balanced film The looks of that pic it appears your white balance was wrong ... if in doubt shoot RAW and adjust later, but your camera also has a pre-set for incandescent. Theres no need to scour the city looking for a good light source in terms of color (brightness matters as I'm sure you're aware) If you're looking for a book, I suggest picking up "The Photographers Handbook" ... its geared towards film, but everything translates to DSLR just fine.
