Message There are miata guys (and Bimmer, and vette, etc) that drive about 3 hours from the southern tip of NJ to drive around High Point all day. Tons of elevation changes, tight corners, long sweepers, complete lack of police...In all honesty, there aren't too many long straights if you find the right roads. I usually drop down to the speed limit on the straights anyway. I used to get "lost" when going to pick up the ex. Then she kept hearing from her friends that a "sexy black car that looks like Rob's" was tearing apart all the local roads, so she started tagging along.

You can stop at the monument park for a BBQ lunch or hit up the local dinners.

A quick journey to NY in that area will bring you to Hawk's Nest, which is short but fun. One side of the road is a straight up cliff, the other is straight down into whatever river that is (Delaware?). Bikers do laps all day but they let sportier cars have a crack at it too, or at least did when I used to go there a lot. Since it's about 5 minutes outside of Port Jervis, there's tons of places to eat or hang out.

Northern NJ has tons of great driving roads. Hell, even in the Newton, Andover, Sparta areas there are all the back roads going to the more obscure lakes and farms.
