last night on my way home I started hearing blow off valve noises after hard accelleration and then letting up on the gas for a shift. Suprised the hell out of me so I ran her up again and she sneezed once more. I could get her to do it for each gear. Tryig to figure it out, I realized that what was happening is that I had the AC on (which is rare) and the ECU disengages the AC compressor under WOT and then engages it as soon as you let off. Because the engine was at high RPM (~5500) the AC compressor clutch engages with a bit of a TSCHHHHH! Sounded just like a BOV, a little shorter though. Even though I *knew* it wasnt a BOV, I had one hella big grin on my face thinking about my NA->TT conversion and knowing that very soon I will hear that noise for real.
