Here is my problem if anyone cares to read...
So about 2 months ago on my first week of putting the Z on the road I get hit by a storm of debris flying off a landscape truck and the front end got chipped, but no body damage just paint.
So I take it to the same shop that had previously repainted the fascia due to my old idiot boss backing into it with his truck, but that's another story that some of you may remember.
So this time I decided to add the 3M rock/bug protecting film to the front and side mirrors.
I get the car back after 3 weeks and there is a scratch right across the hood on the protestant film it self, another on the hood passenger side area and to top it off, as some of you remember I had a "StreetNeeds.com" silver decal on the lower lip of the fascia. The F-ing morons sprayed over the decal!!!
Now they come back with "the sprayer noticed the there was clear coat on the decal so he didn't want to peel it off and cause more damage"
OK but my car has never had the lower portion of the fascia damaged and painted..ever. The previous time they had it, only the upper portion was done, the rough finished area has never been touched.
So now about a week ago they take it back and last night I went to pick it up, nice, big ass motherF-ing scratch on the drive side fender and they sanded and painted just the area were the decal was to a smooth finish. It doesn't match the rest of the lower lip which has the rough finish.. are these people retarded?
So the manager of the bodyshop comes back with "well if you had wanted a show quality paint job, it would've cost you more money".
So as polite as I could be I responded.." I wasn't looking for a show quality paint job. If I was, my car wouldn't be here in the first place. You advertise manufacture's quality work and that's all I wanted!!!, you're not dealing with a F-ing teenager with his half ass slapped together Honda!!!" so what the F are you talking about?
Now is left up there for them to try to "repair the damage" as they called it, but I wasn't to thrilled with the idea.
So now I'm pissed and decided to get the GM involved, this is BTW an Nissan dealership that prides them selves by having one of the best bodyshops of any dealerships in the area.
And the retard GM comes back with "well I talked to my body guys and they tell me that the main issue here is that you have so much aftermarket parts and modifications on your car, that it made it difficult for them to work on, the rough finish on the fascia is obviously aftermarket"
So I say to him, can I come back up there and speak to you in person, I'd like to show you something.
I head back up, so I get there and throw on his desk the original Nissan 1991 brochure, he looks at it and I ask him:
"what does any of the modifications I've done to my car have to do with the hacked up job your guys done on a clearly OEM F-ing fascia?"
So he now agrees that the fascia and finish is OEM, but now they want to see if they can repair the rough finish!!!
I don't know much about Urethane repairs but my understanding is that the rough finish is molded into the fascia, any repair to the finish can not be match to the original form, so as I'm trying my best to be fair I tell him that if I'm not satisfy with the work (which BTW I know I won't be) I want a new fascia, and he agreed.
So great, now summer is almost over and I haven't even put 100 miles on it.
Oh and back to my original question, I called the dealer this morning and asked what the cost is on a new OEM fascia and they tell me that it's $450 or so and it'll take a couple of days to get it, I ask them to make sure it is the right OEM TT fascia, not the NA model and the mentally challenged parts guy tells me that it is the same number, so can anyone help me out on the part mumber for the TT fascia?
