even 50% of smog only station operators/owners don't know what they are doing. As long as he puts his CATs on and pass the sniffer test he can probably get his smog certificate with no hassle. Getting the car inspected, they do that right in front of the DMV. Most of those people don't know much and as long as he has turn signals, head lights, tail lights etc etc they will pass him. I'm sure when he shows up to the DMV he can talk nicely to the inspector and tell them that his car is a show car so they will be easier on him.
 I have nightmares about that happening...I'd be the poor bastard you'd hear about on the news that gets killed by a softball-size chunk while spreading out my body over the hood and screaming "Nooo!"
