Case in point, on the same lines as brahmabull says, when a family member asks you for a price, they're really asking "how much is it still worth to you?" -- simply put, how much do you still treasure it? They're not asking for a market value. It's simply deeper than that. Maybe he's just tired of seeing it sit because you're not doing anything to it. Maybe he wants to see you do something with it. Maybe he wants to buy it from you so he can fix it up and give it back to you as a gift. There are so many maybe's, but he's not asking for market value, especially since he offered to buy it.
