Yet I've seen it stated where manufacturer's recommendations apply, no matter how high the mileage. Doesn't seem to make sense. I'll try 5W30 in my Z cuz the engine is tight. The 5 wt will flow better and should protect the engine better after a cold start even in summer. In any case, the general rule is that it's best to follow manufacturer's recommendations and the facts remain as stated in the TSB.
