Message WELL, first off I have to say I'm embarassed to admit that the last time I waxed Mr. Z was 17 August of last year!!! (Gasp in horror!) I HAD to do it, and I had today off of work, so about 11AM I washed him really well; scrubbed the rims & brakes with a toothbrush, lay on my creeper & got underneath to scrub my mufflers, pipes, & differential, as well as the HICAS unit & the purty bronze colored bolts down there. Then I broke out with the polish and polished him. He was lookin' good already. THEN I went around with some black spray paint that I had sprayed in a little cup, and a toothpick and filled in paint chips around the car. THEN I waxed him. Thoroughly. He was happy.

DO YOU SUPPOSE I STOPPED THERE?

NO.

I did not.

If you thought I did you were wrong.

Remembering that my GS-27 had made my dad's Lincoln headlights look like new, I inspected the lenses on the fog lights & corner lights. Hmmmm... not too bad, but definately a little foggy. So I buffed the heck out of them and they look LOTS better!!!

DO you suppose I stopped there?

NO.

I did NOT.

If you thought I did, you were mistaken.

Next I got back on my creeper with the chrome polish and polished my tips, mufflers, and pipes. Now granted the mufflers & pipes don't look like new, or like mirrors, but much better than they did before this. Is it silly to polish the exhaust PIPES?

NEXT I pulled off my front rims, scrubbed up in there with the same Simple Green & toothbrush, thoroughly cleaning all the suspension pieces. Then I carefully masked off my Eibachs since they're a purty grey color, and my Stillen tension rods, and my Goodrich SS brake lines, and made all the rest of the suspension gloss black.

I took a nice picture of that, too, (y'all woulda drooled) but that file got corrupted somehow between the camera and the web server. Alas. And I'm not gonna jack up the car again & re-pull the rim just to take that pic. lol

I masked off everything ELSE, scrubbed the calipers, used my Dremel to remove icky old paint, and re-sprayed them yellow. This time I decided to keep the Pearl NISSANs instead of painting them black again, but I'm not sure how much I like it. Anyway... the finished product is lovely.

Mr. Z is clean.

Dig it? Also, whaddayathink: Pearl or black NISSAN on the yellow calipers?
