The one on the opposite side is probably fried too. Mine did the same thing, but I had a bypass switch connected. Best $3 I spent in a long time. I talked to some other people about this to see if this is common, and was told that the FPC is like on timer and it also should be replaced anytime the Fuel Pump is replaced.
