| Hey guys, (A little back story.. skip if you want) I recently started working for a racing company and they agreed to rebuild my turbos in exchange for pictures and graphics of their events. They were originally going to get me Garret GT2860R's but we decided that since im going back to school pretty soon and wont be able to make many events, to just go with a stock rebuild (my turbos are fried.. zero boost) ---Back story ends here--- I want to get as much as i can out of these stock turbos and I just don't think dropping 1200 on MS-M's is really worth it on Stockers. Which brings me to port/polished or Extrude Honed stock manifolds. Based on the research I've done on here and Google, I know Extrude Hone is out of the question as far as DIY due to the process involving media blasting, but my question is can port and polishing be done by ones self? Is it as simple as polishing a plenum.. just inside out... or am i going to need some specialty tools. I've searched on the topic but haven't gotten and real results. I'd like to increase efficiency as much as possible myself without dropping large amounts of money on labor (as opposed to preferably dropping large amounts of money on parts), so sending them out to get done isnt really preferred. I have a good extent of mechanical knowledge and skill seeing as how the swap and all parts have been installed by myself. Any advice/ first person accounts would be appreciated. Thank you all.
