sense. If you can make one for $80 lets say it costs them $60 since they do volume. They need to make money and they need to recoup the cost of R&D so they sell them for about $100. Then you get to pay about $200 at the vendor of your choice, who will usually supply the necessary belts, and has to pay; rent, salaries of the sales clerk, stock clerk etc. Also most of us don't have ready access to the materials and equipment to mfr that stuff. But hey, more power to-ya if you can DIY that kind of stuff, let me know how it goes.
