Back in the early 90's Alpine had a device called The Communicator (8316) and this worked with their mobile (car mounted) cell phones and tied into their high end alarm system (8080). If your alarm went off the communicator would call preset numbers through the cell phone and alert you that your car is in alarm condition. Also you could listen to the interior of your car through your phone and activate devices with your numbers keypad. I had this setup and it worked flawlessly as long as you were in an area that had cell service.
