Hello All,
I am setting this up to help anyone who is as foolish as I was to do the NA to TT Swap. I will add to this as i learn because i am still in the process of finishing my project. The first thing you will need a lot of is patience... No joking. I started off with purchasing the engineslingers from the local dealership (Engine pulling brackets).
1. AC Condensor
2. Radiator
3. Boost gauge (Instrument cluster is a ton of work, rewiring the whole dash)
4. Drive Shaft
5. Intercooler
6. Intercoller piping (Hard to find or very exspensive)
7. Piping for intake side of turbo ( around $100 from dealership for both sides)
8. Power steering pump, mounting bracket and adjuster bracket(If you get an engine that came from a car with Hicas, such as i did)
9. Fuel filter and mounting bracket.
10. No matter how many miles your new engine has on it (unlees it is zero miles) do the 60k maintanence on it (timing belt, water pump and idler pullies) trust me on this.
11. Cut the ecu harness hole in the firwall larger than factory (recommended 4" hole) weld mounting brackets on the piece you cut out for re-attachment. I destroyed a harness trying to just fit it throught the facotry hole.
12. obviously you will need a new ECU (Usually comes with JDM engine but double check)
13. External Oil cooler (and line if your engine did not come with them)
14. External Tranny cooler (Automatics) most after markey radiators do not come with them.
15. AC Pressure lines. (if you keep your ac as I did being that I live in southern Florida)
16. new front bumper (recomended for air flow to intercooler)
17. If you plan on putting in an after market exhaust. Buy the downpipes and test pipes upfront and you can worry about the cat-backs later. So much easier to do the downpipes while engine is out.
18. I also recommend replacing "all" the vacuum lines while the engine is out (at least the ones in hard to reach places... back of engine)
This is my list so far but as I said before I am not done with my swap yet. I am waiting on my AC condenser and Radiator now. The Engine is in and hooked up but still have not started it. So this list may infact get longer. If anyone has questions feel free to Email me I will help with what knowledge I have.
Also I am still looking for the Piping that runs between the Intake manifold and the intercooler and the Piping that runs between the boost side of the Turbos to the intercooler.

pre-project

Setting up

Engine is out... It took a lot of beer!

I am not sure if that is my blood or tranny fluid

Yeah new engine is here!

Intercooler .....no problem

Instal downpipes prior to installing engine.... look where they are located and you will understand.

Engine is going in... Finally!

current point

I pushed her outside for a bath!
