Message	are leaks in the intake piping after the turbo, the turbo has to work harder to supply air to the engine at a given pressure if there are leaks after the compressor discharge. You wouldn't notice all the black soot coming out the tailpipe, but in a worse-case scenario, you would be spinning the bejeezus out of your turbos.
