Thats actually my friends car, Mark.
So I've been looking to get a 2nd Z the past few months, mainly looking for a Super White TT.
He told me this white Z has been sitting in front of this house around the corner from his for years. I begged him to tell me where it was so I could take a look, but he never described the location where it sat, even though it was in the same township as me.
He told me a couple weeks ago that he finally got a hold of the owner and he was selling it for $2k. Even if the motor didn't run it would be worth it for a TT.
Last week Mark went back to the guy and he said "well its been sitting for 3 years and I dont know if it runs, i'll give it to you for $800. I'm having a 'mid-life crisis' and such".
Several days later, Mark goes back to the guy money in hand and the guy says to him "I don't wanna rip you off, cause I found that the brake lines were leaking a bit, so I'll give it to you for $600".
Mark bought it, swapped in a new battery, bled the brakes, oil change, and started right up.Needless to say I was pissed, yet happy for him.
He's already asking what mods to do to it. I personally would have left it stock with 36K miles.
