I set the rate to the default rate of 9600 baud and had forgot about the discription in the technical reference. I do appreciate you bringing that to my attention though because now I will be sure to add something to the software to allow for that. Thanks again. I did notice that the conzult software does not allow you to select the baud rate in the settings. Do you know why that is? I assume it was because changing the baud rate would mean having to change the clock rate which couldn't be done without changing the hardware or unless there was a software programmable clock in the interface.
From the Nissan technical reference: Communications baud rate is 9600 baud (default). Clock speed for this baud rate is 153.6 Khz, plus or minus 5 khz (as tested by PL& MS). Other baud rates and matched clocks may be possible as well. Clock GENERATED by the Host terminal (Consult or PC Interface). Synchronizing the clock to the data lines is NOT necessary. E.g. the clock free runs at the required speed.(16x the data rate).
