Well said. I think we all know that ethanol can never replace oil in our country, however it can be an efficient suppliment that may significantly reduce our dependence on foreign oil. There is lots of effort going in to improving the efficiency of ethanol production, as well as research in to using different crops to produce the ethanol (in addition to citrus waste, efforts are being made to use cellulose based feedstock, and several grasses native to North America). It is likely that in the future ethanol will be able to compete pricewise with gasoline without government subsidies.
