| Hey everyone, I don't post here much, and when I do it's usually just with questions in the technical forum. I figured it's time to introduce myself and post some pictures of the car and of my TT swap progress. Sorry for making such a long thread also. Heres the car when I first got it:
The previous owner had attempted to TT swap the car, but failed miserably. I bought the car with the TT motor and transmission installed. The previous owner said that all the car needed was IC plumbing, but there were so many shortcuts taken along the way when the swap was done that I was best off just pulling the motor back out of the car to do maintenance and make sure that everything was done right. Here's the motor right after I pulled it out of the car. It's dirty as hell, and also had an STP oil filter on it which has since been swapped out for a Nissan one :)

I then began taking the motor apart so that I could replace gaskets, clean it up, and just learn about it in general. Soon enough the motor looked like this:

I then took a break from that, and decided to begin with work that needed to be done on the car. This included cleaning the engine bay, replacing the wiring harness with a brand new OEM one, installing IC piping, moving radiator mounts to the TT location, and probably a few other things that I'm forgetting right now.

Alright, back to the motor. While it was out of the car I had a knowledgeable friend help me with the timing belt, just to make sure that I wouldn't mess it up. I also thought of a pretty cool paint scheme to make the motor look good with the color of the car.

Heres the motor just before putting it back into the car:

A few days later, I had a lot of things hooked back up:

Here's the car right after it's first drive:

A couple weeks and 1,000 miles later:

And heres a few pictures of the car that were taken just a few days ago, after finally having all matching wheels :)

The car still does need a little bit of work, such as having the front bumper painted, and other very minor things that need to be adjusted, but overall it's a great car, and after driving it 2,000 miles I am very happy with it!
