Message	I don't know what the crap is. It's like that POR-15 stuff or something: rubbery, sticky, non-soluble in water. I was scraping it off with a screwdriver (!) 'cause it was a quarter inch thick in some places. Previous owner told me it was some kind of "fire retardant". So, last month I change out my fuel filter, spill gas in some places, wipe it up, the rubbery crap comes off! I'm tempted to rub down the entire engine bay with gas. For now, I have one lonely clean spot near the new fuel filter... - John
