sorry to post in a reply once again, but i still get a CGI Timeout when trying to post a new mesage... here's the deal.
I have a rod bearing knock... Nissan of Temecula told me they wouldn't even touch it unless I replaced the whole bottom end 6900.00... or i can buy the parts from Curtesy and have them install it for 6000.00

I can get a bran new engine for around 6800.00 and 1400.00 from Nissan to swap. I know that I can probably get someone else that is Z inclinded to do it cheaper. Currently waiting on possibly a better price for the engine too. (12 month / 12,000 mile warr.) option 3
I can get a rebuilt engine from (ATK?) cheaper... don't have exact price yet, but there is a greater labor charged involved. (36 month / 36,000 warr.) Basically this will add up to option 2 when totally done. option 4
I can trun my crank and replace the bearings, rings, etc... for around 2500.00 option 5
Or I can buy a NEW crank, rings, etc... and get it done for around 4900.00.. what would you guys do? I'm really thinking about the new engine... OH and my current engine just had the WHOLE TOP END TOTALLY REDONE on 01/01... it's got 169K miles.. though.. well let me know what you guys think. Justin
