I'm working with Meziere Enterprises to develop an engine block mounted electric water pump for the Z's VG30DE and DETT engines. It's based upon their 35 GPM pump motor/impeller assembly. I have two prototypes being made for fit and flow testing, so once they are finished I'll get some pictures posted. Some of the benefits of running an electric water pump are: - Higher than stock coolant flowrate at idle and cruise engine speeds, this means more efficient cooling where the engine lives 99% of its life.
- Because of the better cooling, there would be a lesser chance for hot spots to develop that could lead to detonation.
- Can be run in conjunction with an eletric fan and wire both to a thermostat so they will run after the engine is shutoff to cool down the entire engine and prevent heat soak, say bye-bye to your turbo timer.
- With a fully charged battery there will be less parasitic power loss than a belt driven mechanical water pump.
Retail price is looking to be $700.00 each and would include gaskets and all hardware in stainless steel, also included would be a warranty on the Meziere pump motor. All units would be fully anodized tentatively in clear, if quantities are high enough, possibly could do red, blue and/or black too.
