Message they probably meant when compared to the naturally aspirated version of the engine. Considering the naturally aspirated VG30DETT (with 8.5:1 compression) will do something like 160-180rwhp or so, you're looking at mid-300rwhp level. Considering your profile states you did 301rwhp with 7psi, I'm sure you can expect closer to 400rwhp, but to expect 500-600rwhp is unrealistic.

In fact, I'd expect (based on my observations and experiences on the dyno) closer to ~10rwhp for each pound of boost you add. If you had 301rwhp @ 7psi before, and you add 9psi, you'll be close to 390rwhp. Add some extra power for the ECU and intercooler (and whatever other mods you did) and you're looking at low to mid 400rwhp @ 16psi.

For reference, when I dynoed my last car, she did 403rwhp @ 17psi with stock intercoolers (I ended up finding that one of them had a 4mm hole in it and was venting pressure), stock catalytic converters, and a tiny K&N cone intake.

One of the things I learned from modding and dynoing my car is that you should always be pessimistic to protect yourself from disappointment. I expected close to 500rwhp when I dynoed that car, but it only did a max of 431rwhp (as I said, I ended up having a hole in one of the stock intercoolers, and I was also on stock cats with a crappy intake, so it was slightly unrealistic).

The companies that sell parts are going to tell you very idealistic power expectations, and you'll end up being upset when your car doesn't meet them.

Again, I'm not trying to sh*t in your Wheaties, but you're not going to make 500-600rwhp @ 16psi with that setup.

But no one really needs 500-600rwhp anyway... trust me when I say that you'll be more than happy with 400-450rwhp. Even though I expected more out of my old car when I dynoed it (and it clearly wasn't at its full potential), it was still INSANE to drive, and broke the tires loose in 3 gears, in addition to 4th if I went over a wet spot on the pavement.

In fact, I'll be bringing my current 300ZX to a modded level beyond my last 300ZX this weekend (old 300ZX + bigger intercoolers, JWT Pop Charger, test pipes, healthier engine, etc)... I'll probably never dyno it because it's not important to me. I know the car will be fast as hell, and that's what's truly important. When you're done, I'm sure you'll feel the same way - it's fast regardless of exactly how much power it's putting down.
