Message I have been curious about what mods are needed in a TT to lose traction in second gear with good tires (S03 Potenzas, Goodyear F1's and the likes)? And I am referring to when the clutch is fully engaged not when changing gears or dumping the clutch.

I find this question interesting because at that point we're no longer limited by the engine -- any more power can simply not be put down. Of course, additional power will help in higher gears but our second takes us to ~75mph and that's already above the speed limit on most freeways.

I have Stage II upgrades with Potenza RE750 245/40/18 tires. I easily lose traction in the first but feel there's a good bit of margin in the second.

So I'd like to know if you're able to lose traction in the second and even the third. If you are, what are your mods and tires?

If somebody can tell me the ballpark linear acceleration that high-performance street tires can support, that would be helpful. I know lateral acceleration limits are close to 1.1g.
