Message i think everyone is familiar with the idea that slapping on performance parts isnt enough... a car needs to be built and tuned with intent. The same goes for the shortblock... everything must be done right... no issues overlooked. Factory shortblocks gives you more than just the OEM components, you are buying the process. "THE" process.

Heres a short nightmare list for shortblock rebuilding...

Dust/glass bead contamination
Improperly bored/measured cylinders
Improperly honed cylinders
blocked or contaminated oil galleys- Block
blocked or contaminated oil galleys- crank
Bent rods
Rings installed upside down
improperly sized bearings
improperly seated bearings... (grit, nicks, or lube underneath)
Reground crank journals- known to cause failure without re-nitriding (case hardening)

The list goes on and on and on...

Daily driving a TT is like ordering your favorite pizza for breakfast lunch and dinner. It's not healthy and eventually you will lose the magic of the meal. Sometimes you just have to have some meatloaf.

My new meatloaf.... 1994 Black Honda Civic DX :D

what? It looks a little stumpy, but fits great in the hand! (n/m) - ZEngineer 12/12/06
