| i think everyone is familiar with the idea that slapping on performance parts isnt enough... a car needs to be built and tuned with intent. The same goes for the shortblock... everything must be done right... no issues overlooked. Factory shortblocks gives you more than just the OEM components, you are buying the process. "THE" process. Heres a short nightmare list for shortblock rebuilding... Dust/glass bead contamination Improperly bored/measured cylinders Improperly honed cylinders blocked or contaminated oil galleys- Block blocked or contaminated oil galleys- crank Bent rods Rings installed upside down improperly sized bearings improperly seated bearings... (grit, nicks, or lube underneath) Reground crank journals- known to cause failure without re-nitriding (case hardening) The list goes on and on and on...
