Message	engineering because they are not limited by cost and mass production factors. They also have access to 2000's technologies and not limited to the 1980's ones. Good builders will sonically check the block, port out the coolant galleys so they flow more and reduce temperatures, increase airflow so more power can be made on the same boost pressure etc. A solid built engine from a reliable shop like Import Parts Pro will be stronger and more cost effective than a new factory one.
