Message I know this shouldn't bug me as much as it does, but I can't get over my pinstripes and how stupid they are. My Z is the only one I've ever seen with them, and I think they completely ruin the lines of the car. It breaks up the clean and smooth lines of the Z, and the fact that they are cracked and faded doesn't help either. I had them redone a few months ago, but it didn't help. I still wanted them off. So I was talking about it with Chin (TimZ), and he offered to help me take them off. We went to his shop and peeled the new ones, which were taped on over the old ones, off quite easily. But they were unfortunately put on over the old ones, so now the old ones are on instead. They are caked onto the paint and are a huge bitch to get off. And when they finally do come off, they leave a phantom stripe there for all the world to see. Doh! (thanks though Chin, you helped alot!) So here's my problem: I can get the old pinstripe off, though it will be a huge pain. But is there a way to get rid of phantom stripes left behind? Will they rub out? Can I wetsand them? I was told that the only way to get them off is to repaint the car, is this true? If so, how much would it would be to just have the panels where the stripes are repainted? Damn I hate these stupid things. They look terrible on the car, and they won't go away. Just leave me alone you gay ass stripes. Grr. Any ideas anyone? I can't afford to have my car repainted right now, but I may be able to just have the panels that the stripe are on painted (doors, rear quarter panels, front fenders). Here is a pic of partially removed stripes and the phantom stripe left behind:

Suggestions anyone? Please? Thanks in advance....

BTW, the pin stripes are just stickers, not painted on. The "phantom stripes" are NOT adhesive left behind, it is smooth where they are.
