that I dip the ends of jewelry pliers into to work with wire without marring it. It does a nice job for a brief while, but then starts to fall apart. That's a job that involves gripping and bending wire, so it may last longer on the mesh, which technically shouldn't be coming into contact with hard objects. Then again, with bugs and such, weakened areas may start to blow off in wind generated by driving.
