| What I mean by what I said is not for Nissan to just make another plastic filled interior car with a little more horsepower and charge 60k for it. I mean, bring back the Z as a serious competitor like the 300ZX was back in the day. In 1990 300hp was a great basis for what was concidered a lot of power. Now that number is 500 hp. So maybe..bring back the Z with some beast engine like the new Skyline is suppose to have with a good amount of reliable power while still being open up to simple mods to still be able to bump it up another 100 or so :) Then, also add a great overall suspension package for our time, like what was put in the 1990 300ZX. Then come to the interior. Remember..this car will cost $60k or so, so instead of doing what all the other manufactures do, make a unique interior..not 1990ish, but also not the same lame futuristic look everyone does now days. As Nissan did in 1990 with the 300ZX..make a unique interior to the time without all the plastic love we like to give car interiors this time. Cover things in leather, suede, vynil ect. Anything is really better than molded plastic dashes. I can't really say what look or style would look good personally while being unique to 2009, but I am also not a car interior designer, and personally I feel that anyone qualified to be designing cars for Nissan should be able to do that job more than enough. After fitting a nice interior, also add a good sound system. As the 300ZX had a good sound system for the time..the new Z should have a good sound system for 2009. Then while we have now a fast reliable car which handles great, that looks great inside and has a great stereo...one thing is still lacking...the exterior. IMO, the 350Z and especially the new Skyline look terrible and also just have that same futuristic look that is really popular now, but in about 10 years we will be looking back and saying "what were we thinking"..just like how we do with the 80s. No, instead of going that route for looks, Nissan should actually put some thought and love into a design as they did with the 300ZX in the late 80s and create something amazing. We all here know that I love to mod the outside of the 300ZX, but that hardly means that I don't like the stock exterior of our cars. When I see a stock bodied Z in good shape (as I told you about yours the other day when you came over), I am just amazed at how damn good and sexy they do look. When you look at the 350Zs ass you see a fat chick, and when you see the new slyline, you see a difigured man with leprosy. With the 300ZX however, you see smooth curving lines VERY unique to it's time, and a car that will always be liked by many people for years to come. I feel that with the new Z, they should do the same, making a car unique to this modern age of cars, blowing everyone else out of the water. I really do feel that if Nissan were to take this route with making the new Z (or skyline, since that is now their new lead car here in America) sales would do great and many people including myself an dothers on the forum would not mind spending $50-$70k for a Nissan that would be able to compete with Porsches ect, not only in speed and handling, but ALSO looks and feel. I am no professional engineer, or car designer, nor do I have any knowledge of how to make a car company make money, but thats just the way I personally feel wether it's right or wrong no one really know's unless it was done. Personally, I actually do like the new skyline very much from a performance standpoint, but can't get over the looks for $60k. This is all personal taste, but just the way I feel. I'm almost 100% positive Nissan would NEVER go the route that I just said for making a new sports car, because all they really do care about is making money and catering to the general public. There is absolutley nothing wrong with that, but I can still always dream about what the new Z or Skyline could be if someone high up were to take a chance with spending a little extra money on making the car, and creating something impressive, amazing, and worthy of having the Z logo on it. Just some thoughts :)
Thanks, Mike 1991 Black Twin Turbo NZR cause Zs aren't super cars, but still a cool quote..."I think supercars are truely worth it if you can afford it. They inspire us to dream, and to achieve our dreams and be happy." La-Z-Link ^^Hard engine break in method^^ La-Z-Link ^^My Myspace^^
