: i know 17s should be better for acceleration, but i thought 18s handled better. maybe not more unsprung weight makes the suspension work much harder.. on my POS Miata, I did a plus 2 upgrade on the wheels/tires. The heavier unsprung weight makes it slower (yes, the dinky 4cyl can get even slower!!lol) but the handling isn't as crisp as it use to be. If you get 18s that are lighter than stock (ie TE37) you get the best of all possible worlds :)
