there's a reason that every detector test I've seen includes it (as well as the 8500 and RX65), they're the best in the industry. And who is "best" at a given moment often comes down to who had the most recent feature update. Heck, it was only a few years ago that every review ranked Valentine 1st and Escort 2nd. But small changes in programming, sensitivity, and filtering currently favor Escort. I'm sure Valentine will overtake them in capability very soon (hell, if Ku becomes more common, it's one of the only detectors capable of seeing it)... that's the nice thing about our market - companies can compete like that. But I think the Valentine would do better to drop the cost even $50 or $75... and that's why I'm so adamant about the 8500 being a better option right now; it has better filtering at the moment and costs $100 less. If they were priced more equivalently, I wouldn't be so committed to supporting Escort and would likely say "they're about equal, get whatever one you want." But I think we can all agree that Valentine and Escort both dominate the Cobra and Whistler detectors sold at RadioShack and PepBoys. And any detector is better than no detector. =D
