Red top optima's suck. I have a yellow top that I ran in my 240sx in 2005. It sat in a shelf during 2006 year and is now installed in my Z32. It still holds charge. I've replaced Red tops in less than 1yr on customer cars.

If any batteries don't hold a charge than they are gone.
