Subject	Has anyone in CA had problems passing SMOG with a ASHSPEC

Message	ECU? Nothing against Ash but the reason I ask is that my car wouldn't pass smog with his ECU but when I changed out my ECU for a friends 94 TT Auto ECU it passed. Not with flying colors but it did pass within limits. I kept failing for NOx, but the CO's and HC's would pass beautifully. Everything is stock on the car but the AIV's have been removed. ECU is working, no boost leaks and no exhaust leaks. The cats are there also. Do his ECU's have a tnedency to run lean? I know a lean enviroment will lead to high NOx emmisions. Thanks for any info.
