Message	No offense to Nismo_Gizmo, but I'm just trying to help you say that the older bikes, even though they have bigger engines, are not necessarily faster than some of the new 600RR's/636/R6/GSXR6. So if you got a great price, more power to you. But do like you have been and don't try and keep up with your more experienced friends. When I first started riding that was my downfall and subsequently gave me lots of scares. Just ride at your own pace until you're very comfortable with the bike.
