As some of you may know, I'm only 17 and not pulling in that much ca$h. I found a 91TT w/98k miles on it, new tranny, turbos, and intercoolers (has receipt). All for $6k w/ only minor exterior faults. Well since my mother won't let me touch my inheritence from my grandfather till I'm 18 (next Feb) I was thinking of doing the mature thing (sadly) and passing up on this Z since it would be a bitch for me to make loan payments on a car that would cost a piss load to repair if anything went bad on it.
This brings me to my question, how much would I look to spend on an older Z, like a Z31 or a 280z, 260z, etc? I heard it would be a pain to find one in good condition even though the engine can go for over 200k miles. What else can be done to mod these cars for more power? How about external mods to make it not look like the other 8 billion of these cars on the road?
