to US driver side mirror conversion. I took apart both the US and Jspec mirrors. The US mount bracket is longer than the jspec due to the drivers seat and ability to see. I took the bracket spindle out of the US mirror, which is shorter and round where the jspec is taller and has a flat spot which locks it into the sprocket. I grinded a flat spot into the US bolt, shoved it through the motor hole in the jspec, filled it in with JB Weld to make sure it held to the main sprocket. Being that the US spindle is shorter, I could not replace the spring, but using and tall socket and a rubber mallet, I was able to knock the tightener back down tightly against the spindle and sprocket. The tightener was a PITA to get off both mirrors, but using a bench vise and a good pry bar, is possible to get loose without damage. So far everything seems good. I'll test it once the weld hardens. I have pics to post along if successful to FAQ if wanted.
