Message And the step is supposed to be .010" on the RPS. This one which had just come back from being rebuilt at RPS had closer to a .020" step or more in it at different places on the segments. That and the segments were not perfectly flat.

From what I have learned when RPS builds these they do not surface the segments after bolting them down, when they bolt the segments down it pushes the middle parts up a bit and makes the surface somewhat imperfect. As you can see in the pics the step is not even close to .010" as RPS says it is.

The more step a flywheel has the lower the clamping pressure of the pressure plate will be which can cause problems esp. if its twice as much as it should be....
