I recently had larger front rotors put on (324mmx30mm skyline rotors + caliper relocation brackets that SPL and other sold before the 350Z rotor upgrade came out). Those seemed warped so I had them machined today and at the same time put on new Hawk HPS pads in the front. I also replaced the worn HP+ pads in the back w/ Ferrodos and had them bleed the system w/ super blue (was formerly 4yr old Motul 600). Now I have a spongier pedal, and braking that doesn't seem any better than before, if not worse (from when I had original rotors and 4 worn pads). Additionally, it seems that only half the pad is making contact w/ the rotor (outer edge). Obviously going to a larger rotor with the same caliper is going to mean some of the rotor is unswept, but you can see friction material on the newly cut rotor only on the outside inch and a half or so, not the whole height of the pad. Is this due to the pads needing more bedding - or something else? As for the sponginess, I can always ask them to rebleed the system (only used 1 Liter so I don't think it was a full flush, and I have SS brake lines) but would that cause the pads to not make full contact w/ the rotor? The car currently stops like a Taurus, not a sports car. Would appreciate any thoughts.
