So after all the hate messages on my engine bay painting post, i decided to get some good advice as far as hvlp guns go and painting techniques. I am thinking about painting the entire car, engine bay and all. I dont want to skip a step, and i will take every last piece of the car off of the frame if thats would i need to do to make it look great. I do all my own work, although never really any body work. I do have a nice ingersol rand air compressor already, so all i would need is a gun and the materials. Can I make a quality looking paint job my first time? I dont have the huge cash to throw around to give this car the paint job that it needs. My color is cherry red pearl, which ive heard is somewhat difficult to make look nice as a beginner painter. If anyone has any advice or techniques they would like to share, it would be appreciated. Also we could use a thread like this in our vote-faq so lets see how much useful advice we can get here. Thanks in advance!
