Message Z32 5-speed gear ratios:

1st: 3.214:1
2nd: 1.925:1
3rd: 1.302:1
4th: 1.000:1
5th: 0.752:1

Z33 6-speed gear ratios:

1st: 3.794:1
2nd: 2.324:1
3rd: 1.624:1
4th: 1.271:1
5th: 1.000:1
6th 0.794:1

Bottom line: You're not getting better gas mileage, the Z33 transmission is weaker than the Z32 (plenty of examples of problems with stock HP failures), and the Z32 transmission is geared for the VG30 power band. You're also looking at a bit of customization to get the Z33 transmission installed, which makes it more vulnerable to failure in the future.

I've seen a few random setups out there, such as a Supra 6-speed, but really, there are other drivetrain modifications like Leader gears that make a lot more sense.
