Here's the deal. I was planning on getting the Z in decent basic running shape for this summer (stock turbos are seized). I just became a real estate agent (I will be doing this on the side from being a full-time blackjack dealer). I want to have a decent car when I'm driving up to list someone's house and not my loud lifted '88 Jeep. Anyway, my dream was to put about about $14-$16k into the Z which included GT525 turbos, injectors, sm intercoolers, bovs, clutch, flywheel, wheels, suspension components and lots of other crap. Although the 500 hp attained would be nice, it still would have 100k on it and I know I will never see this money back again. For the hell of it I started looking at cars that I could get for $18k and was pretty amazed. I could get a G35, 350z, TL type s. I don't really know what I want in life anymore. I have always had modded sport compact cars, but wondering if I am now graduating to the next step to something a little more refined and clean. So I ask, what would you do with the $18k. My concern is that I will spend the $18k on a newer car, then get the itch to mod it and end up spending money I shouldn't.
