Message of the factory ecu environment. The only thing the Zem does is it gives you control over your fuel and spark timing but with no additional parameters except for knock.

The AEM adds some additional parameters to the engine tuning. For example, with the AEM, you can program the tune to compensate for changes in coolant temps or oil temps or any other external sensor. Say for instance you are on a long run high speed. You can program it to run a little richer and trim back timing if coolant temps get above a certain threshold so that you don't blow the engine. You can also have it self tune with a wide band 02.
