You shouldn't have a problem getting rid of the shell once you strip everything off of it as long as you don't mind letting it go for cheap. I had to deal with a similar situation and I just rented a flatbed from UHAUL for ~$40/day. Put the car up onto the flatbed, then jack it up and remove all the parts that you need, including the rear subframe and wheels. This should not be a problem because the salvage yard will likely just lift the car off of the trailer with a forklift. Good Luck!
