: Alamo in Arlington has a 94TT engine for under $2000. I think it's complete except for the turbos...and I think it has a warranty. Also if we could round up at least 1 other person to help I'd help swap the motors... I have a hoist... trying to calm the waters between us. I thought we did alright at Founders Day ;) thats a good deal on the motor! I'm thinking bad gas right now. I took the car to mr expert Damon Z. We couldn't replicate the sound. So it's intermittant, which Damon believes is not motor related. I put a fresh tank of super in, and will try some tl3 injector cleaner (have had success in the past with it) and Damon recommended "dry" addative to remove any water. As for why I would put it in those gears at those speeds? to repeat the problem...that's when it would make the sound...as I left the stop light and rolled through second gear at 1,500 rpm...clatter clatter. Before, it was audible over the AC...now, it's barely audible, if at all. I'm taking it to Austin and San Antonio. If i need a tow, I'll be calling the TTZD hot list... :) and on a personal note, sorry about the LT5/ZR-1 bit...thought it'd be fun...wasn't really (not for me anyway).
