Message I have a 1080 watt amp and 2 10 inch subs. Now when i pump the volume, and im talking loud as in shake and vibrate the car, the rpm needle fluctuates as if the rpm's r moving a crack higher to compensate for lack of electricity. Now this happens worst at idle fluctuating at +/- ~100rpm. As i give gas, for say im running at 2000 rpm, the needle fluctuates ~30-50 rpm. Any rpm higher than 3000 then u can slightly see the needle move.
Now this only happens when the volume is at max power and the subs are banging hardcore.
My question is...... Is this normal? can it do damage to anything? do i need/should i buy something to compensate? Lowering the gain helps some but it doesnt pump as much. Should i record songs with a higher bass (using the EQ) to compensate for gain on amp?
Id realy appreciate any insights/comments that u can give me on this cause im stumped on the best way to go about resolving this problem (assuming this is a problem). Thanx again.
